Follow these simple steps to Tinker your Tag. If you have any questions, please contact us.
The process will involve downloading a free app that will help you program you Tinker Tag with the information YOU choose to share.
Step 1
Visit your application store and download “NFC Tools“. For Android, this is the Google Play Store, for Apple, this would be the App Store.
NFC Tools is a FREE application with no in purchase app needed. It allows your phone to “program” your Tinker Tag safely.
The Icon will look like this:

Step 2:
Once installed, Launch the app. Tap the READ button. Touch your Tinker Tag to the back of your phone. Usually near the top. Phones are different, you may have to google your phone’s model with the words, where is my NFC reader? Once recognized, NFC Tools will display your Tinker Tag’s info:
Step 3:
Dismiss the info and return to main menu. TouchWRITE then ADD A RECORD. Scroll down and touch PHONE NUMBER. Next type in whatever phone number you want associated with your Tinker Tag.
Step 4:
Touch theWRITE button (it will show a certain number of bytes of data next to the WRITE button.
Your phone will prompt you to touch your Tinker Tag to your phone. Once it recognizes your Tag, it will write it and you are done!
To TEST your Tinker Tag… just close out the application, and make sure your phone is unlocked. Tap your Tinker Tag to your phone, and after a couple seconds, you will see your phone prompt you to dial the number YOU tinkered into that cool tag!

OPTIONAL: Password Protect your Tinker Tag
Step 1:
Open NFC Tools and touch OTHER. Touch SET PASSWORD. Type in your desired password and touch SET.
Step 2:
Touch your phone to your Tinker Tag to set your new password. Done!
NOTE: To update your contact number in the future you will have to remove the password which can be done easily by opening NFC Tools, selecting OTHER and then REMOVE PASSWORD. Enter your password in the dialog box and then touch REMOVE. Tap your Tinker Tag to your phone and now you have removed the password and can edit your contact number.
